PlantID Pro is operated by ASIP Technologies, Inc. (“PlantID Pro,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use the PlantID Pro mobile application and related services collectively referred to as the “App” or the “Service.”
By using PlantID Pro, you acknowledge that information may be handled as described in this Privacy Policy. Certain optional features require information that you choose to submit to be processed by external service providers, as explained below.

2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide, information created through your use of PlantID Pro, and limited information needed to operate the features you request.
Account Information
If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information needed to create, secure, and manage your account. We do not store your password in readable form.
Plant Photos and Identification Requests
When you take a photo or select a photo from your device for plant identification, we process the submitted photo to provide identification results and related plant information.
Submitted plant photos may be transmitted to the external plant-identification and artificial intelligence service providers identified in Section 5 of this Privacy Policy.
Do not submit photos containing identifiable people, faces, private documents, payment information, government identification, addresses, or other sensitive personal information.
Plant Identification Results and Saved Collection Data
When you identify, confirm, correct, or save a plant, we may process information associated with that record, including:
- Common name and scientific name
- Identification result and confidence-related information
- Plant category or classification
- Generated plant-care information
- Saved image references
- Collection information
- Reminder information
- Corrections or edits you choose to make
For guest users, saved information may remain on the device. For signed-in users, eligible saved plant records and saved plant images may be stored and synchronized through our cloud account and storage services so they can be accessed across supported devices.
Manual Plant Lookup and Generated Care Guidance
When you use manual plant lookup, we process the search text you submit to provide possible plant matches.
When you request generated plant-care guidance, save a plant for which generated care information is provided, or refresh generated care details, we may process the plant name and relevant plant information needed to provide that guidance.
AI Plant Care Chat
When you use AI Plant Care Chat, we process the messages you submit and relevant recent conversation context needed to generate a response.
Do not include personal, private, financial, medical, or other sensitive information in AI Plant Care Chat messages.
Location and Weather Forecast Information
If you choose to enable local weather features and grant location permission, PlantID Pro processes your device location to provide local weather information for plant-care purposes.
Your latitude and longitude may be transmitted through PlantID Pro to the Google Maps Platform Weather API to retrieve local forecast information. Google may process information received through Google Maps Platform in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
Location information used for local weather is not used for plant-photo identification or AI Plant Care Chat unless we update this Privacy Policy and provide any disclosure or permission request required before that additional processing occurs.
Scan Usage, AI Chat Credits, Purchases, and Technical Identifiers
We process information needed to provide usage limits, restore eligible access, support guest use, administer purchased access, and protect the Service, including:
- Scan usage and remaining scan allowances
- AI Plant Care Chat credit usage
- Subscription or purchased-access status
- Account identifier for signed-in users
- Device or installation identifier for certain guest-use, service-quality, fraud-prevention, or usage records
Feedback, Screenshots, and Corrections
If you submit feedback, we may collect:
- Feedback category
- Feedback title and description
- Optional screenshots you attach
- Whether you permit us to contact you about the feedback
- Account or guest-device information needed to administer the submission or any applicable reward
If you correct a plant name or category, we may store the correction together with related plant, confidence, language, regional, or source-context information for your saved record and for evaluating or improving the quality of PlantID Pro results.
A correction submitted by one user does not automatically change results presented to other users.
Subscription and Payment Information
PlantID Pro offers paid subscription features and, where available, one-time scan top-up purchases.
Purchases made through an app marketplace are processed by that marketplace. PlantID Pro receives information needed to confirm purchased access, such as subscription or entitlement status. We do not receive or store your full payment card details from the marketplace.
Device Permissions
Depending on the features you choose to use, PlantID Pro may request access to:
- Your camera, to take photos for plant identification
- Your photo library, to select photos for plant identification or attach feedback screenshots
- Your location, to provide local weather forecasts
- Notifications, to provide local watering reminders
You can manage device permissions through your device settings.
3. How We Use Information
We use information processed through PlantID Pro to:
- Provide plant-photo identification results and related plant information
- Generate plant-care guidance
- Respond to manual plant lookup requests
- Provide AI Plant Care Chat responses
- Save and synchronize your plant collection where you choose to use account-based synchronization
- Provide watering reminders where enabled
- Provide local weather forecasts where enabled
- Administer accounts, purchased access, scan allowances, and AI chat-credit allowances
- Restore eligible purchased access
- Receive, review, and respond to feedback
- Store and evaluate corrections or quality-related information
- Maintain Service security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot technical issues
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
4. Externally Processed Plant Identification and AI Features
PlantID Pro uses external plant-identification and artificial intelligence service providers to provide photo identification, generated care guidance, manual plant lookup, and AI Plant Care Chat.
When you choose to use these features:
- Photos you submit for plant identification may be transmitted to the providers identified in Section 5 to provide identification results and related plant information.
- Plant names, relevant plant details, or manual lookup text may be transmitted to OpenAI to provide generated care guidance or manual lookup results.
- AI Plant Care Chat messages and relevant recent conversation context may be transmitted to OpenAI to generate chat responses.
Permission for Externally Processed Features
PlantID Pro requests permission before first transmitting submitted photos, manual lookup text, generated care requests, or AI Plant Care Chat messages to external plant-identification or artificial intelligence service providers where required by applicable platform policy or law.
If you allow processing, PlantID Pro may transmit future information that you intentionally submit through these features without requesting permission before every individual request, unless the disclosed recipients or processing practices materially change.
You may decline permission. If you decline, features that require external plant-identification or artificial intelligence processing may not be available.
In supported App versions, you may withdraw permission for future externally processed features through Settings. You may also contact support@plantid.pro with privacy-related requests.
Withdrawal applies to future processing. It does not reverse processing completed before withdrawal and does not automatically delete previously saved plants, prior identification results, AI chat history, feedback, or other stored information. Deletion options are described in Section 11 and on our Privacy Choices page.
5. External Service Providers Receiving Submitted Feature Data
We do not sell your personal information. For the features below, information you choose to submit may be transmitted as follows to one or multiple services below.
Plant.id
Photos submitted for plant identification may be transmitted to Plant.id to provide plant-identification results and related plant information.
Pl@ntNet
Photos submitted for plant identification may be transmitted to Pl@ntNet to provide plant-identification results and related plant information.
Trefle.io
Photos submitted for plant identification may be transmitted to Trefle.io to provide plant-identification results and related plant information.
Perenual
Photos submitted for plant identification may be transmitted to Perenual to provide plant-identification results and related plant information.
Zyla Labs
Photos submitted for plant identification may be transmitted to Zyla Labs to provide plant-identification results and related plant information.
OpenAI
PlantID Pro may transmit the following information to OpenAI to provide requested features:
- Photos submitted for plant identification
- Plant names and relevant plant details needed to provide generated care information
- Manual plant lookup text
- AI Plant Care Chat messages and relevant recent conversation context
Google Gemini
Photos submitted for plant identification may be transmitted to Google Gemini to provide identification-related results.
Anthropic
Photos submitted for plant identification may be transmitted to Anthropic to provide identification-related results.
Google Maps Platform Weather API
If you enable local weather features, location coordinates may be transmitted through PlantID Pro to the Google Maps Platform Weather API to provide local forecast information.
Google Maps Platform processing is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
Other Disclosures Required to Operate or Protect the Service
We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to:
- Provide cloud storage and synchronization features you choose to use
- Administer purchased access and restore eligible purchases
- Comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process
- Investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms
- Protect the rights, safety, or property of users, ASIP Technologies, Inc., or others
- Support a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements
6. What We Do Not Do
PlantID Pro does not:
- Sell your personal information
- Share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Use your submitted photos, saved plant records, manual lookup text, or AI Plant Care Chat messages for advertising targeting
- Access your contacts or microphone for the features described in this Privacy Policy
7. Local Storage and Cloud Synchronization
PlantID Pro may store information locally on your device, including saved plant records, scan usage, reminder schedules, feature settings, correction queues, and cached information.
If you create or sign into an account, eligible saved plant records, saved photos, account-based usage records, corrections, feedback information, or related records may be stored and synchronized through our cloud services so they can be accessed or administered as part of the Service.
Deleting the App removes information stored only on that device. It does not automatically delete information already synchronized to your account or stored through submitted feedback, processed requests, transaction or entitlement records, or other cloud-supported features.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and purchased-access functionality, support saved collections, process feedback, administer security, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary based on the type of information and the feature used.
Information disclosed to external service providers is processed and retained according to the applicable terms, privacy policies, data-processing terms, security practices, and legal obligations of those providers.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through the Service.
These safeguards include encrypted transmission of data in transit, account-access controls, and access restrictions for account-linked stored information.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Processing
PlantID Pro is operated from the United States. Information processed through the Service may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries where our external service providers operate.
Where required by applicable law, we take steps intended to support lawful international processing of personal information.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of eligible personal information
- Withdraw consent for future processing where processing is based on consent
You may also:
- Manage camera, photo-library, location, and notification permissions through device settings
- Manage permission for future externally processed plant-identification or artificial intelligence features through available in-app settings in supported App versions
- Delete your account through the App where available
- Request account deletion outside the App through the Privacy Choices page or by contacting support@plantid.pro
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
Deleting your PlantID Pro account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. You must separately manage or cancel any active subscription through the marketplace account used to make the purchase.
12. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, applicable California privacy law may provide rights to request information about categories of personal information collected, used, or disclosed; request deletion or correction; and receive equal service when exercising applicable rights.
PlantID Pro does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

13. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Similar Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar privacy rights, applicable law may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, receive portable data, or withdraw consent.
Depending on the activity involved, we process information to provide requested services, administer our contractual relationship with users, pursue legitimate interests such as security and Service operation, comply with legal obligations, or act on your consent where required.

14. Children’s Privacy
PlantID Pro is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information through PlantID Pro, contact support@plantid.pro so we can review and address the request.
15. Links to Other Services
PlantID Pro may include links to websites or services that we do not operate. This Privacy Policy does not govern external websites or services reached through those links. Review the privacy terms of any external service you choose to access.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above.
If we make a material change to the categories of information transmitted through externally processed features, the purposes for that processing, or the external recipients that may receive user-submitted information, we will provide any notice or updated permission request required by applicable law or platform policy before new processing occurs under the changed disclosure.
